Singapore, 9 October 2014<\/strong> — Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501, “Hitachi”) today announced that it will host the “Hitachi Innovation Forum 2014 Singapore,” on 19 November at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. Themed “SOCIAL INNOVATION – IT’S OUR FUTURE: Empowering Business and Society with information”, the forum aims to showcase Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business in the global market. Featuring conferences, seminars and exhibitions, Hitachi Group will introduce its advanced and cutting-edge business models, solutions, products, services and technologies in the fields of finance, industry, healthcare, transportation, water treatment and energy.<\/p>\n“We are very excited about holding the Hitachi Innovation Forum 2014 Singapore,” said Yutaka Saito, Executive Vice President and Executive Officer, President & CEO of Information & Telecommunication Systems Group and Information & Telecommunication Systems Company, Hitachi, Ltd. “Through this event, we would like to introduce optimized solutions and innovations utilizing Information and Communications Technology to our customers and business partners. Hitachi aims to increase its overseas sales ratio from 45% in FY2013 to over 50% in FY2015 under its “2015 Mid-term Management Plan.” Asia is one of the most important markets for the Hitachi Group, and the Company is aiming to increase its revenue in Asia (excluding China) from 989.9 billion yen in FY 2013 to 1,290.0 billion yen in FY2015.<\/p>\n
Hitachi is aggressively expanding its business and strengthening its business structure in Asia. For example, Hitachi established a regional headquarters for infrastructure systems business, and controlling base of engineering function for infrastructure systems business in Singapore, in April and October 2014 respectively.<\/p>\n
In addition, Hitachi Consulting Corporation acquired Stone Apple Solutions Pte. Ltd., Singapore’s technology consulting company in this month to accelerate its investment toward strengthening its business.<\/p>\n
