Bangkok, March 12, 2018 <\/strong>\u2013 Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501, \u201cHitachi\u201d) today announced the appointment of Mr. Yoshito Kodama as Managing Director of Hitachi Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. with a responsibility to lead growth in operations and to expand Hitachi\u2019s Social Innovation Business across Thailand.<\/p>\n

Mr. Kodama will succeed Mr. Yasuo Mizutani, who is returning to Japan as Senior Manager of the Global Business Development Division, under the Corporate Sales & Marketing Group of Hitachi, Ltd.<\/p>\n

Both appointments will take effect from April 1, 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cThailand constitutes the largest share of Hitachi\u2019s business operations across Southeast Asia. As the trend of digitalisation continues to perpetuate across the country, Hitachi will continue to support the national push for Thailand 4.0 and strengthen its contribution towards the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project, by leveraging on its expertise in the Internet of Things (IoT), urban development and smart cities, to address modern challenges in Thailand. Mr. Kodama has a wealth of business experience in strategy planning across global markets, including sectors such as information and telecommunications, as well as data systems. He started his career with Hitachi, Ltd. in 1988, after graduating with a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Social Science from the University of Tsukuba.<\/p>\n

In 2010, Mr. Kodama rose to the rank of Department Manager of the Global Business Planning & Operations Division, where he developed and led Hitachi\u2019s go-to-market (GTM) strategy for the Indian market. In 2011, Mr. Kodama assumed a role as Senior Vice President and member of the executive committee of Hitachi Vantara in Santa Clara, within the United States of America. In 2015, he was appointed General Manager of the Global Management and Strategy Planning Division, under the Systems & Services Business Division, where he spearheaded strategy planning for Hitachi\u2019s social innovation business worldwide. Since 2016, Mr. Kodama has served as a board member of Hitachi Consulting Corporation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
