In an inaugural Managing Asia event on October 3, the first of two “Asia Builders” series was delivered with a live-shoot of events held at the Marina Bay Sands (MBS). This was done with the intent of being the convergent point for dynamic discussions between renowned architects, business leaders and experts shaping our cities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This multi-platform campaign was a regional sponsorship between CNBC and Hitachi entitled “Asia Builders”, which was recorded through the on-ground event in front of a LIVE audience for the first time and broadcasted in two-parts on October 17 and 24 across CNBC’s TV and digital platforms. The on-ground event attracted a total of 140 participants with more than half being C-level executives, and nearly 85% from the senior level management. Additionally, Hitachi’s sponsorship included promotions that ran on CNBC Asia Pacific and digital entitlements on CNBC.com. It was also complemented with a series of television commercials (TVCMs), showcasing Hitachi’s innovations in addressing challenges prevalent in developed and emerging countries that was aired across Asia Pacific.<\/p>\n

Hosted by award-winning anchor Ms. Christine Tan, she tackled the opportunities and challenges today for Asia’s further growth, and explored the building blocks essential for success. The first session of the event was a one-on-one conversation and interview with Mr. Moshe Safdie, the celebrated global architect behind MBS. Some of Mr. Moshe Safdie’s notable projects include the Salt Lake City Main Public Library and the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas.<\/p>\n

Following the first session, the second session was a thought-provoking panel discussion with influential business leaders who have shaped the Asian landscape. Through the panel discussion, they explored opportunities, risks and growth strategies for the region in the face of slowing emerging economies. The panelists included Mr. Serge Pun, Executive Chairman of Yoma Strategic Holdings; Mr. Jonathan Stein, Managing Partner of Skidmore Owings & Merrill; Mr. Sorapoj Techakraisri, Chief Executive Officer of PACE Development Corporation Public Company Limited, and Mr. Bintang Perbowo, President Director of Wijaya Karya (WIKA).<\/p>\n

Mr. Kiyoaki Iigaya, Chief Executive for Asia, Hitachi, Ltd., expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration in the closing remarks, “Thanks to CNBC’s support, we are very honoured and thrilled to have this great platform with influential thought leaders for exchanging candid ideas and inspirations. Through the learnings of these in-depth discussions, Hitachi aims to address the challenges faced in this region through our diverse range of products and solutions.”<\/p>\n<\/div>
